America's travel community is uniquely positioned to address two of the greatest challenges facing the United States: the urgent need to reinvigorate the U.S. economy and strengthen America’s standing in the world. Travel to and within the United States creates bottom-up economic growth in every state and congressional district, and facilitates the people-to-people diplomacy that constitutes America’s best opportunity to win hearts and minds around the world.
On this Web site, The Travel Industry Association (TIA), to become the U.S. Travel Association on January 1, 2009, has created a one-stop resource for the best thinking on nearly all federal travel policies, including TIA developed briefing documents and, where available, links to external information from think tanks, government agencies and others. We have divided the topics by agency: Departments of Homeland Security, State, Commerce, Transportation, Interior and the Environmental Protection Agency. A listing of all topics follows. Please click on the individual department links on the right for more information.
